Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP, James Morris, joined local councillors Simon Phipps and David Vickers in cleaning up James Grove Recreation Ground, a well-known spot for local anti-social behaviour.
Both local councillors and the MP had received complaints from nearby residents who requested the land be cleared up, to help combat on-going anti-social behaviour.
Councillor Simon Phipps said, "Following reports from residents about people using the area in the corner of the Recreation Ground as cover for anti-social behaviour I decided to take proactive action and cut it all back so it is more open"
"I am a member of the James Grove Recreation Ground trust that owns the land and after consulting with my colleagues on the trust I organised a day where myself and a few others could go down and try to deal with the problem at its root. I was very pleased that our MP James Morris and also Councillor David Vickers volunteered to help myself and the team."
MP James Morris said, “I am always happy to get stuck in and help, that’s why, with local councillors, we took practical action to solve this issue. We came together with cutters, gloves and bags, to help make sure that this spot had a bit of TLC”.
