Conservatives call for West Midlands MPs to respect EU Referendum vote
Local Conservative MPs call on cross-party support to back the votes which will see Brexit delivered for everyone in the West Midlands.
Margot James MP, Mike Wood MP and James Morris MP have called for cross-party support to ensure that the EU Withdrawal Bill continues to pass smoothly through to the Committee Stage in the Commons.
It is vital that this Bill passes smoothly through Parliament because it provides certainty for businesses and families and ensures that MPs can deliver on what the people voted for.
Last week the Prime Minister successfully secured the first part of our deal with the EU and it could not be more important for the country to get on with the Brexit process.
Commenting Margot James MP said:
“People in the West Midlands voted to leave the EU and the votes in Parliament this week will allow us to make sure that happens in the smoothest possible way.
“Now more than ever we need a united approach to get the best Brexit deal for the country – so it is time for MPs across the West Midlands to support this Withdrawal Bill, no matter which party they come from.
“We’re working to get the best Brexit deal for our country so that we can build a better future for people in the West Midlands by regaining control of our laws, money and borders.”
