Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP James Morris has visited Halas Homes for the unveiling of a new room divider part funded by his 2018 London Marathon sponsorship.
The local MP ran the course for the first time in 2018 and a grand sum of £3252.22 was raised for Halas Homes to make an improvement to their centre.
The money raised has helped fund a room divider which now can split Halas Homes main Meeting Place room into two, so separate activities for the residents can be held. This is where people with a Learning Disability meet daily to take part in various activities including dance, drama, music, art and poetry.
James Morris MP said, “It was lovely to pop into Halas Homes again to see some of the excellent facilities they have on offer and meet some of the residents who are always so full of energy and humour. The divider is now fitted and has helped Halas Homes put on more activities for those who use the centre daily. I’ve not long completed my second marathon and all the hard work in training is well rewarded when you can see what a practical difference the money has made.”
