Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP James Morris has successfully completed his second London Virgin Marathon and raised money for local charity Up and Downs.
The marathon, which over 40,000 people run the 26.2miles around central London on 28th April is in it’s 40th year and attracts competitors from all over the world.
The local MP ran the course in 4 hours, 25 minute and 31 seconds.
Following the marathon James said, “I am very pleased that I managed to get round the whole route again, and finish with a much improved time. Marathon's can be a bit of a rollercoaster, but you have to maintain a clear focus on what you want to achieve. Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support and sponsored me. There is still time to donate, and over the next few weeks I will be putting all the donations together and handing them over to Up and Downs.”
Money raised will be going towards specialist equipment, Makaton workshops and speech therapy sessions for the children.
