Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP James Morris has visited Halas Homes to present the final fundraising figure for his recent London marathon challenge.
The marathon, which saw 40,000 people run the 26.2miles around central London on 22nd April is in it’s 39th year and attracts competitors from all over the world.
The local MP ran the course in 6 hours, 1 minute and 42 seconds.
In total a grand sum of £3252.22 was raised.
Following the marathon James said, “I am very pleased that I managed to get round the whole route, in what was one of the hottest ever London Marathon’s. It was absolutely gruelling at times, but I was committed to getting over that finish line. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, and I’m looking forward to going back to Halas Homes soon to see the improvements they’ll be making with this money.”
The money raised will be helping to support Halas Homes with their Meeting Place room. This is where people with a Learning Disability meet daily to take part in various activities including dance, drama, music, art and poetry.
