James paid a visit to Huntingtree Primary School today to meet Year 4 pupil Yusuf, the winner of his Christmas Card Competition for 2021.
Every year James invites pupils and students at schools and colleges across Halesowen & Rowley Regis to design the cover for his Christmas Card, and 2021 has proved another popular year with over 900 entries for him to pick a winner from. James’s Christmas Cards get sent to many local dignitaries and his colleagues at Westminster, including a card to the Prime Minister and his family at 10 Downing Street.
With James undertaking a new role as Vice Chamberlain of Her Majesty’s Household as part of his Government Whip duties, a Christmas Card with Yusuf’s winning design has also been sent to the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
As well as visiting Huntingtree, James also presented certificates to the runners-up at Lutley Primary School, St Margaret’s at Hasbury CoE Primary School, Hurst Green Primary School, Reddal Hill Primary School, Sandwell College and Windsor High School.
"My annual Christmas Card Competition is always a highlight of the year for me, but choosing a winner and runners-up from such a high standard of entries has not been easy!", said James.
"I want to congratulate Yusuf and I was really pleased to meet him at Huntingtree on Friday and present him with his certificate. I also want to thank everyone who has taken part this year, and I hope they all have an enjoyable time over the upcoming Christmas break."
Jim Harrold, Headteacher at the Primary School, said "Huntingtree children and staff are extremely proud of Yusuf for having his card design chosen by Mr Morris. We were all really excited to be told that his card would be sent to the Prime Minister and the Queen, and Yusuf didn't stop smiling all day!"
