James has thanked local children who have taken part in his annual Christmas Card Competition, giving him the tough job of choosing a winner and four runners-up from the high standard of entries he received.
Robin Purcell (Year 1) from Hurst Green Primary School was crowned as this year’s winner and James was able to present him with his certificate, as well as awarding certificates to the runners-up: Amara (Year 2, Our Lady & St Kenelm’s Catholic Primary School), Rocquai (Year 5, Reddal Hill Primary School), Taman (Year 5, Highfields Primary School) and Yusuf (Year 13, Ormiston Forge Academy).
"Since becoming an MP in 2010 the annual Christmas Card Competition has always been a highlight of my year" said James. "I enjoy seeing just how artistic and creative local children in Halesowen & Rowley Regis can be, and they always make it tough for me to pick a winner!
"Unfortunately I had to cancel last year’s competition due to the General Election, so I was determined to ensure that this year’s went ahead. I want to thank all those who took part and send my congratulations to Robin at Hurst Green Primary School for designing the winning entry."
