Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP James Morris has visited Up and Downs to present the final fundraising figure for his recent London marathon challenge.
The marathon, which saw 40,000 people run the 26.2miles around central London on 28th April is in it’s 39th year and attracts competitors from all over the world.
The local MP ran the course in 4 hours, 25 minute and 31 seconds.
In total a grand sum of £2,523.50 was raised.
Following the marathon James said, “I am very pleased that I managed to raise over £2,500 for Up and Downs. Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support and sponsored me, it is greatly appreciated. Money raised will be going towards specialist equipment, Makaton workshops and speech therapy sessions for the children who use Up and Downs and I know it will really make a difference."
