Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP, along with local Councillor Jeff Hill, have successfully secured new signage for shops in Thornhill Road, Hayley Green.
Local shop keepers had been concerned that many local residents did not know that the shops were there and asked local MP James Morris and Cllr Jeff Hill to help raise the profile of the shops.
Local Councillor Jeff Hill said, “The Thornhill Road shops offer a wide range of products and services but while talking to local residents we found that many had no idea they were there despite living within a few minutes’ walk. Sometimes small things like a couple of signs pointing to the shops can make a big positive difference to local residents and businesses. I hope this will help ensure the long-term future of these shops.”
MP James Morris said, “This small collection of shops offers a fantastic mix of things to do and buy. Local shops are key to a thriving local economy and provide important jobs. I am pleased to see that these shops are being used, and the owners taking an interest in their local community. I am hoping that these new signs will attract new businesses to the area.”
Deborah Kelleher (owner of Chillout Therapy and Beauty) who requested more signage said it was good to see local politicians ‘working with the community to bring local people and local business together.’
