Improve local railway stations and transport links

Good connectivity is important, whether that’s by road or rail, and I am working with providers to ensure better services on our public transport. Potholes are often a regular nuisance for drivers, and I raise these with our local councils.

During 2023, following complaints from numerous residents, I urged Sandwell Council to ensure that the repair works to Station Road in Old Hill were completed speedily after 18 months of delays and congestion, and I was pleased that we saw a re-opening in February 2024.

When the 002 bus service was under threat in early 2023, I supported a petition by local Councillor Stuart Henley, and worked with then-West Midlands Mayor Andy Street, to encourage Diamond Bus to rethink their plans. I was pleased when passenger's voices were heard, and the route was saved.

In 2021 I worked with Halesowen BID and Black Country Transport on a project to regenerate Rowley Regis Station, making sure it is tidier and working to use the station as a means of promoting what Halesowen has to offer. This includes new signage and artwork displays from Halesowen College students.
