Halesowen & Rowley Regis MP James Morris has successfully completed the London Virgin Marathon and raised money for local charity Halas Homes.
The marathon, which saw 40,000 people run the 26.2miles around central London on 22nd April is in it’s 39th year and attracts competitors from all over the world.
The local MP ran the course in 6 hours, 1 minute and 42 seconds.
Following the marathon James said, “I am very pleased that I managed to get round the whole route, in what was one of the hottest ever London Marathon’s. It was absolutely gruelling at times, but I was committed to getting over that finish line. Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support and sponsored me. There is still time to donate, and over the next few weeks I will be putting all the donations together and handing them over to Halas Homes.”
The money raised will be helping to support Halas Homes with their Meeting Place room. This is where people with a Learning Disability meet daily to take part in various activities including dance, drama, music, art and poetry.
